As Director of Events & Corporate Relations, I led the planning and execution of a special event for the descendants of Sojourner Truth and Ulster County dignitaries. The event happened at the seven-foot bronze statue honoring eminent abolitionist and suffragist Sojourner Truth at Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park in Ulster County. After receiving a call from the Ulster County Executive's Office. A great event came together - after many phone calls and conversations a surprise performance was put together.
The event brought together Ulster County dignitaries and surprised the descendants of Sojourner Truth with a powerful, cultural one-person performance written and What an historic day with RAW TRUTH by renown author, Cesi Davidson, performed by renown actress Aixa Kendrick.
This one-time special event connected the community to history, culture, and the mission of Walkway Over the Hudson.
