The Walkway Ambassador Program is the heart and soul of Walkway Over the Hudson, and none of our events, educational programs, tram operations, or even the gift shop would be possible without these dedicated volunteers.
Easily recognized by their red vests, Walkway Ambassadors are the welcoming faces who greet visitors, share the rich history of the Walkway and the region, provide directions and information, and support Park staff in keeping the visitor experience exceptional. More than 150 Ambassadors strong, this energized and committed group helps connect over 600,000 visitors each year to one of New York State’s most iconic destinations.
Coming from all walks of life, our Ambassadors give back to the community by sharing their time, passion, and knowledge—making every visit to the Walkway warmer, more engaging, and truly memorable. I was blessed to be able to work with them for over seven years... they are the heart of the Walkway.
