A core part of the mission of the Plattekill Historical Society is to remain an integral and active presence within the greater Hudson Valley community. Beyond preserving artifacts and archives, the Society brings local history to life by participating in community events, offering engaging activities, displays, and educational experiences that connect people of all ages to the area’s past. By meeting the community where it gathers—at festivals, celebrations, and local programs—the Society weaves history into everyday life, fostering pride, connection, and a shared understanding of the region’s heritage. This ongoing outreach ensures that history is not only remembered, but actively experienced and passed on throughout the Hudson Valley.
